Level 4 Civil Engineering Technical Apprenticeship Wales - Consultation
Overview
Overview
CITB has been leading work on behalf of Medr to develop and offer a Level 4 Technical apprenticeship in Civil Engineering in Wales. Thanks to a partnership between Medr the Construction Industry Training Board (CITB) and Cardiff and the Vale College the first cohort of students should be starting their apprenticeships as early as September 2026.
Of the Further Education colleges in Wales, Cardiff and the Vale College has been working with the Institute of Civil Engineers (ICE) the Institute of Highway Engineers (IHE) and local employers/organisations to develop the Skills, Knowledge and Behaviours that will underpin the apprenticeship.
The Technical apprenticeship being created has been subject to external consultation with industry, including Civil Engineering companies/consultancies.
Working closely with the ICE and the IHE the professional bodies representing Civil Engineers the Technical apprenticeship’s aim is to ensure apprentices have the high level of technical knowledge and skills needed in the industry.
Attached is the final version of the Wales L4 Civil Engineering Technical Apprenticeship knowledge Skills and Behaviours for consultation.
