Introduction

We’d welcome your participation in: Consulting on the Levy Proposals for the next three years (2026-29)

The challenge is clear. Our latest industry forecast indicates that 250,000 additional construction workers will be needed in the UK over the next five years to meet demand. Construction work accounts for 6.2% of Great Britain’s economy and is expected to grow further, with home-building and infrastructure projects high on the Government’s agenda. Ensuring the industry has the right skills has never been more crucial.

To address these needs, we have robust plans for investing the CITB Levy, including:

Investing £868 million in construction skills over the lifetime of the 2026-2029 Levy Order
Enhancing the quality and capability of a network of Training Providers, which will be central to CITB training support
Expanding the New Entrant Support Team to build a strong pipeline of talent into construction
Empowering businesses by expanding our new Employer Network.
